Has anyone had similar situation?

I sent my coin from the UK to the Czech Republic, but from 28 of September, the status of the shipment has not changed.

The coin was prepared for the auction house (Katz Auction House), and I contacted them twice (last week and two weeks ago).

They replied: "Usually it takes less time. We have provided all the information to the customs office and it had to be cleared already.

I will contact them to obtain the current status of the package."

But again it was one week ago, and still no information.

There is only this information on the Czech website:

Is there anything I can do, if the coin was for example “lost” by custom office ?

Unfortunately, it is not uncommon that parcels, packages and letters can spend quite some time (meaning up to a few weeks) at Customs. Moreover, these tracking reports are not always reliable.

Ask your local post office when you can file a report for a missing parcel.

I had plenty of issues with coin shipments from UK to EU after Brexit

seems long indeed but still there might be a chance for it to arrive

my record was a inner country Tracked letter which was deemed lost, it ended up arriving almost 450 days after shipment.

Sadly, I have to agree.

The shipment is not stolen or seized.

It is simply in the hands of the customs officer on the mail-leprechaun waiting for customs clearance.

This applies to all shipments outside the EU.

info@cpost.cz - Here, write to them what is bothering you and they will answer you - it's just burning mail - a new customs nonsense modeled after America.

It's not stolen, the post office is playing blackmail.

write to this lady what is bothering you - do not forget to write the tracking number of the shipment - then write an explanation that it is just an attempt to sell and the recipient should also explain it - to whom the shipment is addressed.

Ivan

Thank You so  much Ivan, I will try write to them.

Some update about my parcel with coin from UK to Czech Republic - after 40 days after one more email from me to KATZ:

They informed me that the parcel will be sent back to you.

It seems that they are preparing it for dispatching.

Then my response:

Could You explain to me why ?

I didn't ask the Czech Post office to send the coin back to me.

And KATZ response:

They informed us that the coin can not be imported from GB to the Czech Republic due to its historical value.

Customs clearance informed us that the coin can not be older than 50 years.

When I sent the coin to the auction house (Iraq: Faisal I, 1921-1933, AR Riyal (200 Fils), they only asked me to provide a tracking number. I asked if I could send the coin to their headquarters in London, but they insisted on sending it to Prague. No information about any restrictions.

I wonder what British customs will do now.

I'm so sorry it didn't go through.

Yes, almost all countries have a ban on importing and exporting historical objects. Some already from 30 years and above, most often 50 years, and some require a written inventory and permission from the Ministry of Culture.

Everything is caused by the separation of Great Britain from the EU - shipments in EU countries are not controlled

Lesson learned next time - send it through someone in France and you'll have peace of mind and everything will go smoothly.

I bought-from some city in Great Britain- 6 coins from Ancient Greece -500BC at an e-bay auction the whole winning stack of coins cost me £1 and I only paid a small postage fee-and no one checked it and no one cared that it was somewhat older and the coins were there 3 times:

N#44535

one of the pile in even better condition.

It's just such a stupid bureaucratic mess now - everything that goes outside the UE is strictly monitored and customs paid - checked, taxed, etc.

However, I have already ordered counterfeit silver historical coins from China twice - nobody opens the shipment, I don't have to pay extra, it's interesting that this import company declares everything through the customs authority and nobody pays anything and doesn't ask anything, so I buy coins for 2 to 3 dollars and I don't pay anything for shipping or customs-on Monday I am going to order a large shipment of coins for the third time, I will also put Maria Theresa's Tolar or large Russian silver, etc.

I don't understand how it comes from China?? and a country like GB is already outside Europe - interesting

from ordering-shipping, customs clearance within 7 days and home delivery within 10 days before the gate to the house, everything is free, I just pay by card transfer when ordering what I ordered.

It is a tragedy when multinational business - the chain has a different yardstick - this whole theater is distorted, and not only in our country, it is almost in the entire EU, and I think that where the law on imports is not so coordinated, the Chinese have a kind of intermediate warehouse there. - it just makes so much sense to me.

You need to contact Czech customs and discuss with them. Thats the best.   Also sometimes you need to get approval from the local archaeological authorities for importing it. HOwever discussion is the best as sometimes customs staff may be reasonable. Normally they do not open letters lower than Euro 50 declared as a Gift as thats the legal duty free amount into EU if I remember correctly but rule is implemented different in different EU countries
