Hi, I was wondering if anybody could help me identify this token. I got it in a mixed lot of coins from eBay, and I've not been able to find anything similar in the catalogue or online.
It's around 3cm diameter, silver coloured, fairly light feeling but too heavy to be aluminium. It says UK POWER NETWORKS / KEEPING THE LIGHTS ON on one face, and the other says LONDON 2012.
My first thought was that this was a token for an electricity meter. But I've not been able to find any similar ones, and 2012 is a fairly recent date for coin operated meters. My only other thought was it could be Olympics related, given the London 2012, but I can't see why an electricity company would make an Olympics token. If anybody has seen a similar token or knows what this could be, I'd be grateful for the help.
