I have 7 gold Rehau coins. I think they are issued by Rehau limited but I cannot find any further details on them. They look like they commemorate their locations / production sites

Ross on Wye

Morhagne

Muri

Iridium

The coins are 8 grams and marked sv986 so I think 0.986 gold.

Does anyone know more about these coins?

Please upload photos.

some of these Rehau coins with the 50p in there for scale.

They do not look gold to me.

...you can run,  but you can't hide...

I am suspicious but they are marked sv986

hello,

Rehau is a community near me in northern Bavaria, but Rehau was (perhaps is) also an important enterprise producing polymer parts. These medals should be related to the enterprise.

There is a good possibility, that the medals are made of gold like assured.

Looks like brass to me.

Definitely not brass, my question to myself is are they gold or gold plated?. I will calculate the weight based on the dimensions and relative density of gold vs silver.

Looks like no one yet has any knowledge of these. I might also contact Rehau ltd to see the reasons why these have been issued - might be to issues to commemorate some special events in their company.

I suggest do an XRF-test on them, to be sure of the actual composition.

Will XRF distinguish between solid and plated gold?

Yes offcourse in tens of the percentage

of course contact the company who made these pieces. https://www.rehau.com/group-en/contact

everything other comment is idle speculation.

Employees of REHAU received these coins for long-term employment. The 1st you got after being five years with the company.

They are made of gold.

Thanks Mike, solves the mystery. Nice gift, worth about £670 now each as scrap gold but I expect not much collectors value
