This message aims at: suggesting an idea to improve Numista

I think it would be nice to have an Anchored “Introduction” thread for those just getting into Numista. It would probably be best in the “Free Discussion” section.

Perhaps they could be directed to make a short “intro” after they register (or given an automated reminder after a week of participation).  In other forums, I have noticed great intros & then nothing (members don't return).

New members might be encouraged to:

Give a short introduction which includes where they're from, what they collect & any other Numismatic background info they may wish to include.

Thoughts?

Around 2800 new members joined Numista last month, so no thanks to that amount of introductions, it would need its own section.

I do like the idea, but like Sjoelund pointed out i think it would be best having a separate section.

I think it is a good idea, often seen on forums.

I wouldn’t see it as becoming a vastly bloated thread – in my experience, generally, relatively few new users would actually post on such a thread, and it would tend to be mostly those who intended a longer term interest in participation in the forum, rather than those who registered for a specific action (in the case of numista this would fill the ‘valuation’ or ‘identification’ slot). My experience on this type of thread activity is based on gaming forums, perhaps numismatic would be different.

I feel they could do that in their profile, in the field about what they collect. WDYT?

Might not be handy to find someone's presentation if its on the forum, whereas clicking on the pseudo and having it could be nice?

Better than a message on the forum!
