New PNC from Australia Post - Queen Elizabeth II in Memorium

For those unfamiliar with what a PNC is, they are Postal Numismatic Covers. Australia Post issues quite a lot of them. In Australia there are some very serious collectors of them.

There are different types of PNC's. I collect mainly just the normal ones issued to the general public via the Australia Post online shop or Post Offices, who sometimes have quite good displays of them as you walk into the Post Office.

Some PNC's are only issued at various ANDA Coin Meets as special overprints or different coloured releases. These are usually very limited in numbers and command premium prices. Then there are Impressions releases that are only available online from Australia Post and usually can only be ordered through a ballot system. These are also much more expensive than the standard issues.

I don't collect them all but I do have quite a few of them. Lately Australia Post has been issuing them with special Envelope privy marks on the coins that are included in the PNC. Of course I get them as they are different from the standard coin issue by the RAM.

Today I got this one from the Australia Post online shop.

It is a Queen Elizabeth II in Memoriam issue containing a 50 cent coin. it has six different $1.20 stamps on the front as well.

The 50 cent coin is special in that it has the Jody Clark In Memoriam obverse. This coin has not been issued into circulation and it is doubtful if it will be. It was issued earlier in the year in the Creatures of the Deep Lunch Kit.

This is the Numista page for the coin >>> N#364222

This will most likely be the last PNC with a Australian 50 cent coin issued with Queen Elizabeth II on it. I expect that we will very soon see King Charles II on our coins.

Not sure what that 2010 Perth Mint Lachlan Macquarie $1 coin in a PNC has anything to do with what I posted above?

Nothing. Just want to share what a PNC is. I used to buy them until one day at a local show, I saw Aust Post team selling them for half the retail price.
