Russian Federation swap

Could I get some help please. I have a swap going with a Russian citizen who wants me to do stickered postmark so he can find it in the post office. I have looked up express post from Ireland and the only information I can find is that postal services are on hold at present. Is this part of the embargo on Russia? Is there any way to send from Ireland that is not too expensive?? Thanks Bren

Yes it's not looking good. Ordinary people get in the way of political power struggles once again.

The only mail that will slip through to Russia are ordinary letters, the ones with one or two sheets of paper inside.

Ask your swap partner if they know someone within Russia who travels to and from a bordering country (except Belarus). If yes, then you might want to arrange for this person to pick it up in the other country to where you then will send it. It's worth a shot, but don't send valuable stuff this way.

Thanks. It seems that he has had a lot of successful swaps within Europe. Is it only certain countries in Europe ?

I understand that the International postal service only works for a few countries like Belarus, China, Iran and of course for North Korea too. I bought and paid for some banknotes from a Russian seller back in February 2022. The seller posted the notes on 25.02.2022, the day after the conflict started. The Russian Post Office could not deliver the mail, and after two months, it was returned back to the seller. The seller then has to get someone to post it out in a western European country. The seller is now operating his business in a western European country.

Good luck to your venture 😀

Shipping between Russia and UK works well. Shipping to Ireland is possible according to the Russian Post website.

maybe it helps:)
