is there a hockey card collector mainly from the USA? [solved]

Big greetings for the big pond.

Colleagues, when I always write "very healthy" at the beginning, and especially have a nice day and good luck, I mean exactly what happened to me this morning.

I was looking for something in the old stone barn, where there is garbage and a dump of everything unnecessary from the time of moving from the city to the mountains to the cottage.

I found an old paper shoebox full of hockey cards and also a few card arxes, I don't even know how many but 300-500 I don't know-dusty, some already irreversibly damaged - others in good condition and preserved.

I need advice on how to do it?

I'm certainly not interested in collecting it - I bought it in the 90s of the last century for my sons - they left it in the apartment and were not interested, so I took it to the barn a long time ago and sold the apartment.

I just randomly took 5 cards and looked at the website under the name NHL cards. One price 7 USD, the other 1 USD , the third put me on the ground - 2451,- Euro

the fifth card I chose Wayne Gretzky - and I went under the table -15 759,- Euro   what is-16 938,-$
on our money 380 514,-  the crown - and that is our annual average salary? before tax -just to buy one good car.

My head is spinning and I don't continue to look for more Wayena cards.

What to do?

Should I dust off all the cards and store them in a clean one?

Should I sort by player name and card number and card brand into excel and then search for price?

In our country, I would be afraid to put it on a sales website - they would deceive me and I also have no experience with it.

Try to find it somehow in Excel and then ask someone in the USA for cooperation and trade - and gradually send it to him so that he can sell it and keep 1/3 of the price for himself after deducting the costs and transfer the rest to me?

I don't know, my head is confused: my colleagues here know that I collect coins, exonumia, banknotes

The fact that I collect Chinese cups with lids, old scales, old irons, ceramics- I'm now buying "pokemons" for my grandchildren for albums.

But this is a shock to me-Here is a photo taken just like that and a sample of what I read from the two cards.

Or am I wrong and hallucinating?

Please, give me an advice.

Derian Hatcher is in the middle of card #50 in the third photo.  Various states of quality and not cleaned of dust

So should I search all the cards where is Wayne?

I can be wrong, I'm only human, that's why I'm looking for advice.

,, After some time, I add: I don't know what kind of site they told me the value of, but I looked on Ebay and the price is so low that even the recommended writing would be more expensive, so a miracle won't happen, the caravan will move on.,,

Hello Mimeal,

I don't collect cards anymore, but I used to.

One of the best sites I've seen is https://www.tcdb.com/. I am not sure if this is viable outside the US or North America, but it is a great resource for all things sports cards and collectible cards. It has a very comprehensive list of cards and is pretty easy to navigate and use.

You can get a pretty realistic card value there and there is a forum to trade and/or sell the cards you have.

There is also colnect.com (sorry guys) that has a card database, but it lacking, as it is not a priority.

Best of luck with the cards you have.

Thank you very much for the introduction to the website.

After the initial shock, I sobered up.   It's not like that, the first prices jumped up wildly-but it's not true. Once again, I will sit down and select a few cards, put them in Excel and look for prices.

But I already know that I will take the cards back to the old stone barn again after dusting off the packaging and maintenance.

Perhaps in 500 years, a great-great-great grandson will buy a trip to an NHL game in to the center of "Laos", the new cradle of ice hockey🤣

I succumbed to the shock and the vision 🤑 and I have almost started ordering gold collections of Aurelian to enrich my collection.🤐

Ahoj -and thanks again.

yes Exist indeed,  very wealthy sport card collectors.

I myself know nothing about the topic. i  have some friends, these friends are extreme in the local collecting hobby clubs.

not my thing personally, but I hear they will pay whatever to out do each other. 😁 as we do…

I don't know Gretsky or so, but yes, big money is spent in this area

over here.

good luck to you ,  liquidating this collection.

About 1991/92 hockey cards began to be over produced and their values are lower. Specific cards for specific players in specific cities can fetch good prices. The Gretzky card is after he was traded from Edmonton. It might still be desirable for a specific collector but is less valuable than those when he was in Edmonton.

Do you have any Jagr cards?

Do you have any Jagr cards?

Nice day to the cradle of ice hockey.

Our tradition of playing ice hockey in the Czech Republic is also well known. Jaromír Jágr still plays for his bought own team,, Kladno,, where he also started his career.

I don't know, but my son said that "Jágr Jaromír" is also there, but most of the cards are badly damaged, so after the initial shock, I sobered up - I dusted off the cards, put them in a clean box and put them back in the warehouse of history.

Jágr cards are highly valued and sought after by our fans.
