Hello,

Currently, the RPC reference refers to both the online catalogue and the published books.

However, this is not used consistently on Numista, which mixes publication years, publishers, and reference numbers for the online and physical catalogues. However, the online and physical references are not 100% overlapping. There are many coins added online that are not present in the printed catalogues (example).

A similar situation occurs with RIC and OCRE, which have different codes on Numista.

So, I propose that the RPC reference should also be split. We would need the current references to be kept for the online catalogues and RPC I, II, III, VII.1, VII.2, and IX + the supplements to be added as physical books.

For the physical books we would need these added:

Status changed to Started (Xavier, 12 Oct 2023, 15:52)

Hello,

I split the RPC from RPC Online: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/catalogue.php?id=76

I still need to add the supplements and RPC IV.4, which will be released in December (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0714118311/)

It should be complete now. I hope I didn't make any mistake.

Status changed to Done (Xavier, 12 Oct 2023, 18:20)

How I understood it, every number in the physical catalogs is also in the online catalog, but not the other way around. So why would we keep the physical catalog numbers and not just replace them with the online ones entirely? Now it's just a weird abomination with physical and online back and forth on Numista, which is annoying.

Or did I understand it wrong and there are numbers deleted/changed in the online version?
