Papal States  - Camerino

Camerino was part of the Papal States since 1444. Located in the province of Macerata, it began to mint coins in the mid-13th century when it became a free commune. In 1259, Camerino passed under the Lordship of the Varanos and continued to mint coins until 1539, the year in which Pope Paul III definitively closed the mint.

Note: the coins issued after 1444, and currently listed in Numista as “Camerino, Republic of”, belong to Papal States-Camerino.

I created all ruling authorities for existing coins in Camerino. From what I understand it was independent up to 1539, not 1444 right?

Also link you sent if for a coin after 1539, whereas you stated the mint closed this  year?

Sorry for the confusion. Below you have is the list of different periods of coinage for the mint listed in this webpage

According to Wikipedia, Periods: 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 were governed by rulers under Papal Domains, but maybe we should still consider them as Camerino, as they are correctly included now. My doubt was because there are two popes in the list (5 and 10). Camerino officially joined the Papal States in 1555, but there are no coins minted afer that.

The mint was actually closed with the death of Paolo III (in 1549, above I stated 1544).  The coins under Clemente X listed below are just commemorative, and it seems they were minted in Rome.

Overall, I think we can leave Camerino as it is. The alternative would be to include as Papal States - Camerino, for the period where it was governed by the Popes (5 and 11 below)

Thanks a lot!
