Hello, I am curious to know what is your most common year in your collection. Mine is 2017, with 53 coins out of the 2220 different coins in my collection (I only collect by type).

1794 = 48 coins.

Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins

1967 for me - 309 coins out of 12127

Probably as that year was the decimal currency beginning for New Zealand and I have several sets of coins from that year.

Other big years

1977 - 220

1980 - 215

2015 - 155

2018 - 153

1989 - 187

1950 - 151

Before 1900

1896 - 21 coins

1900, 1876, 1874 - 19 coins each

Before 1800

1696/97, 1746, 1787 and 1797 - 2 coins each (Seriously).

Update - added a 1743 British shilling and sixpence, so its 2 coins from that year too!

I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

For me it seems like it's 2006 with 66 coins.

In my swap list it's 1981 with 104 coins.

Cool, never thought of that before. 😁

Hello.
1993, it is the division of the Republic after the "Velvet Revolution" into two separate states and the more coins for the collection.
Therefore, do not be afraid to give independence to the peoples in your states -,,it will enrich you,,

Referee of south atlantic islands

Seems like 2012 with 312 coins is the highest # of coins for me out of my type collection of 10781

1969 - solidly from my birth year set

1942, 40 coins.

102 coins in 2002, from a collection of 4012 (by type). Probably caused by the introduction of the Euro in a number of European countries.

312 from 1980

Euro introduction with 110 for me as well, take this outlier out and it's a larger spike around 75 from 2005-2008.

After adding more coins to my swap list, 2006 is still in the lead, but with 62 coins.

No change in the leader in my swap list.

2015 (collecting by year), but I don't know why…

Hi to whoever is reading this. Did you know that TYPEWRITER (on a QWERTY keyboard) is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard.

Mine is a draw between 2007 & 2009 with 325 each.

2002, introduction of the euro.

1968 & 1969

Crewe

1944 is the biggest year for me.   I have a good variety of different coins from that year, but the number is slightly inflated by a bunch of Filipino coins that I got out of bulk lots.  I guess a lot of common coins were made that year just like all the other War years.

1968 is also a big one for me, but that's mostly because I have a lot of duplicates from that year (Mexican 25 Pesos, Canadian Dimes and Quarters, etc.).

I don't have much post 1968 in my collection since I mostly focus on World Silver and that was the last year a lot of countries put Silver into circulation.

I think the question was only about your collection, not including the doubles?

1944 and 1968 also happen to be the years I have the most types from, with 22 and 20 types respectively.

2002 is leading for me

“Arise, awake, stop not until your goal is achieved.”

1970 with 290 different coins.  I also have 32 pieces of exonumia from 1970.

1935 - 23 coins

2002 is my new top year with 60 coins. I added a few Euro coins to my collection.

Definitely 1967, I haven't cataloged them all but New Zealand 1 and 2 cent coins are almost always 1967 for some reason and I have dozens of them

1922 with 3 coins and in my swaplist 1963 with 21 coins.

That is awesome! I want to fly across the pond and sit in your living room and let you show me your collection!

Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Looking for pre 1783 coins

The ‘leader’ in my collection is 1965 with 61 coins. This is because of a big pile of libyan coins that I have, whose only issuing year was (I think?) 1965. Other than that, no special reason

Because 1967 was the year we had Decimal Currency introduced and the numbers minted of the 2 cheapest coins there of 120 million 1 cent and 75 million 2 cents, were the highest ever minted until 2006 with the small 10 cents.

Thanks. I do have a few modern coins, either because they are cheap or pretty, but I do not collect them.

Only anything before 1900 is what I like. Next to the living room is the kitchen …
