Not sure how I feel about some of these.

I'll just list my initial thoughts below:
Overall, I think this is a solid group with some designs being more thought out than others.
I have to agree with your opinion of the Murray design. I think the Zitkala-Sa is the best.
It's interesting that QUARTER DOLLAR/QUAR. DOL. has been completely abandoned. The last year that happened was 1838.
Meh!! to all of them. But not to be sexist, I just don't like them.
They look more like collectable medals from the petrol station than
actual collectors or circulation coinz.
Bubblegum like all that alpahabet and dinosaur/sports themed $1 and $2'
coinz out of Australia.

I'll just list my initial thoughts below:
- I think the Cruz design is quite fun, and I love coin designs that imply movement. (This Dominican coin jumps to mind.)
- The Walker, Mink, and Zitkala-Sa designs are serviceable.
- The Murray design is going to be a disaster. The book title and denomination look crammed in at the last minute ("Oh shit, we forgot the face value. Shove it in somewhere."). I also see the portrait within “hope” being poorly implemented. With how many errors appear with the Kanaka'ole design, I wouldn't be surprised if this happened here as well.

Yeah, that's how im seeing them. the Walker, Mink and Zitkala-Sa are definitely the best of the lot, I think they should all look somewhat similiar to those 3. And yeah the 25c being crammed in last minute can be entirely avoided if they just thought to put “Quarter Dollar” on the BACK like they did with the State quarter series.
I like the first one for sure. The others are generally fine. The Murray HOPE remains to be seen how it translates to a coin. I’m not holding my breath either and I do agree it looks like the denomination was an afterthought
otherwise in general these inspiring women series have been quite attractive in their dynamic designs. I don’t have a single one yet, but likely I will place an order with the mint for the proof silver Sets fairly soon.

My thoughts, exactly. Not to forget similar pokemon-style British 50 cents pieces.
Ugly or not (it's all about our own perception) I can't wait to put my hands on those ones too.

NZ could at least be like Australia which issues frequent circulating commemorative coins that are fairly easy to get in change and uncirculated versions are also cheap and easy to find. Many of the designs especially the colourful $2 coin are very beautiful. NZ could learn from that.
I don't like the Murray design. Looks like we're looking at her through a window or jail bars. Why not make it like the other four, which are very similar, and are more dynamic with the full torso, rather than just a mug shot.
Any chance the min will reconsider the Murray design?

Absolutely zero, but they may tweak it some when they try producing the dies.
The Murray one is terrible. I like all the others, particularly Zitkala design. It's encircled with text, which provides a nice frame and keeps the appearance of an actual coin, not just a blank canvas.
