Rarity of certain banknotes from South Sudan

I was taking a look at the banknotes from South Sudan and I noticed that the fractional denominations (5, 10 and 25 piasters) seem to be much more expensive than all the other ones; does anybody know why? Are they rarer? Were they simply issued in smaller amounts?

This is a very good question. For a moment, I thought these were ‘home made’. I bought a set (5/10/25 piasters) back in 2013 for almost US$20. These should not be rare, as judging by the serial numbers there should be thousand if not million pieces printed. As for why they are selling so expensive, I have no idea. 

The 5, 10, & 25 Piasters were never put into circulation, as they failed technical tests.

For a while, they were available for sale across the Bank of South Sudan's counters.

I bought mine from Murtaza Karimjee.
