Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Sorry I can see this degenerating into a low grade vulgar, American style pop culture thread. How long until we have Kardashian rubbish, rap lyrics, and dumb tik tok/ vine type stuff.

This is a coin forum, I think this type of thing should be posted in reddit or facebook type threads.

Lets keep the IQ level of this page above 90.

Memes are a strong part of internet culture and always will be now.

This is also the free discussion part of the forums where people can talk about something other than coins for once.

They say "Pecunia non olet", but I know better...

Since this is a numismatic forum, maybe it's better to only post memes related to coins?

One rubble - that is a funny meme.

Post all the coin memes you want, that one is hilarious! So funny that Hapertas used it for his profile picture.

Really low quality.

How about we open a romper room for all the juvenile stuff for our more childish members.

I think we already did that here.

Some members actually had to be censured for offending others.

Go make your own thread.

Or better yet, if you don't like a thread then grow up and don't click on it and be pissed off at it.

-Ash

Why should I?

I can click on any thread I like. Its my democratic right. I only check these threads as I think its amusing that coin collecting, an academic hobby in my opinion for the rich and educated seems to be attracting everyone now.

I mean what do you even collect Flying Red Panda or whatever your name is?

Come on, if you don't like it, just ignore it. I don't really find this stuff funny (except for the lysol one, that was funny) and i just ignore it. Don't be so petty.

Easy to expound very outdated elitist opinions. You do have a penchant for stoking the embers.

Please don't make fun of usernames. Flying Red Panda is a cool name.

What would you deem as educated? Rocket scientist or Neurosurgeon.

What is rich according to you - are there set criteria of certain annual income.

I knew a guy who lived in a tiny room who barely managed 1 meal a day. He was a truly dedicated collector. He had full sets spanning 16-19th century British rule in Asia. On his death the full collection was bequeathed to his primary school for sale or exhibition. His family supported that decision.

Magnanimous gesture - doubt anyone can match that.

I collect coins which is why i'm here, and I understand the concept of “free discussion”. that's all that's needed on this forum, not really rocket science or brain surgery. don't like it don't click it, I don't care about your “democratic rights” or whatever, this is the internet nobody cares just find some memes or go look at another post.

2005 Category - At-Risk Survivor

(2005, Florida) My cousin is a paramedic who related the following story:

"Sparky" was a twenty eight year old, brand spanking new, EMT student.  His first day in the medic lab, he marked the occasion by taking the defibrillator paddles, placing them on his chest, and shouting, "Juice me up!".  Ding Dong, EMT Student No. 2 took him at his word, charging up the paddles and shocking Sparky with 360 joules.

Sparky took all of six steps before collapsing in full cardiac arrest. His fellow classmates practiced CPR until the paramedics arrived three minutes later.  The paramedics defibrillated Sparky once again at 360 J, returning him to a normal sinus rhythm and saving his life.

He was intubated, given a round of epi [epinephrine] and brought as a post-code [coronary arrest] to the emergency room where I work.  With the hopes that Sparky did not sustain brain damage from hypoxia, or ischemia to his heart, he should have a full recovery.  I worked on Sparky for four hours, eventually wheeling him to intensive care just before I left.

Sparky (heh heh), is currently a volunteer fire fighter with aspirations of being hired as a paramedic/fire fighter.  In true Emergency Medical Service spirit, he has been given the new nicknames AC/DC and Joules. He broke two golden rules:

  • If you don't know what it is, don't touch it.
  • If you know what it is, don't kill anyone with it.

The student who charged the defibrillator stayed after class to write, "I will not electrocute my classmates," one hundred times on the board.

Thank God for paramedics.  And God, please protect children, fools, and students.
