Victoria and Albert token unable to identify [solved]

This token is 25mm and 4.28g

 

Obverse: Victoria bust in front of Albert.

Lettering:  . VICTORIA QUEEN OF G: B: &.  ALBERT PR: OF SAX: COB:

Reverse: Prince of Wales feathers.

Lettering:  H.R.H. ALBERT EDWARD PRINCE OF WALES 

BORN NOV . 9.18.1841

So, given the date on it, it's somehow related to the birth of (the future) Edward VII who was born Albert Edward. He was born on the 9th November 1841 - which is the date displayed on your token (It's Nov.9.1841 NOT with that additional 18 in there as your comment suggests).

 

He wasn't actually given the title of PoW until December 1841 so your token was probably made to celebrate that. The birth of an expected future king (assuming they lived survived, which he did).

Victoria & Albert were his parents, and he was their first son and thus became the heir apparent to the throne (although they already had one older daughter, at the time, a son automatically jumped in front of a daughter in the line of succession).

 

Afraid I can't find anything more on it. It could've been made for a specific event (E.g. a party in London) or just a generic souvenier. I suspect the latter if it doesn't explicitly mention anything else.
