Based on what I saw here: http://eurocollection.co.uk/Variants.html and then my own collection!
I would like to see a new year line for that variant, what do you all say?

I would say a slightly used die, then they get polished and you start the cycle anew.
I only see a slight difference in the thickness of the columns but this could just be the images tricking the eye.
I have both coins, and it's certainly NOT a used die at all.
Do you have the physical coins?
Sorry to unburry this topic, but I have the said coin (with mate background) and I don't think at all it is due to an used die.
So now, we're at least three having those, thanks for the support.
I should also add that the same variant exists for 50 cents coin.

Finally, the referee for Germant has accepted my change request about adding the “mate Brandebourg gate background” variety to the 2002 A coin.
This topic can now be closed as “Solved”.
