Woodland Dairy over ? Hammond Creamery? [solved]

6 posts • viewed 50 times

This appears to be a repurposed token overstamped Woodland Dairy Co. I can almost make out the underlying text: HAMMOND CO. ?? CREAMERY ??? Reverse one pint milk covers anything that was there before. Anyone know the underlying token, or where they come from?

that's very cool.  Hammond couldnt pay for their lot, and Woodland got a discount.

There have been coin issues that never issued,  got run through another minting, and you can still see the old image,

a 20th century Italian 20 cent. comes to mind, among others.

May also explain why my Louisiana Trade token book rates the Hammond as very rare. Gives it a E-10 rating. A-G is most desirable to least (G) and the 10 is like all other rarity indexes. 1-10 with 10 being the rarest.
