Just a crazy idea:
I collect my items in different ways, depending on the country or region.
As example,
1) I collect Uruguayan and Cuban coins and banknotes, by types, years and variants, but not paying attention to proof versions, or replacements/specimens.
2) I collect other Latin American coins and banknotes by variants, but not years, nor signatures combinations.
3) I collect circulating South American coins SXXI (from 2001) by types, years and variants.
Of course, many other users would have their own rules for collecting.
Now, when I check my collection records, I need to open each page, go to years lines section, find what the variations are, so I know what is missing. In past I used to add a comment on the lines of varieties missing and wanted, but this means I have to register at least 1 piece, that is not the correct thing.
The wished/not wished is a good feature, but for me is partially useful, cause it reminds me I wish (or not), but not what I wish in particular. In other words, I may want to find a note that has different serial# color, but is very possible when I look the page I remember what I would want on this type, so I need to check all the year lines, compare the variations, and see what I have and I'm missing.
My idea is to add a private comment (since it is not others business, and would not be useful for them), where we can add notes, similar to the notes we can add on other users profiles. It could be places on top of year lines, or at end, and be visible on search results, when the option “Fast collection input: show” is selected.
I'm sure other users would find more ways to use the section.
Best regards,
Daniel,
Uruguay.
