Hong Kong Chartered Bank - 10 Dollars 1980

Can someone please help me identify this banknote …

The reference lists a, b, c, d, and e (1980 - KNB52a/b/c/d/e; P# 77a).  But, there is no S.

Is this a new tag on the page?

The S prefix from your serial number has nothing to do with the suffix of the identification P#.  The P# a/b/c etc is usually linked to a year or signature change.

The Letter they are talking about is 1980 and their was not signature change that year. So it is something else.

Just check the year on your note (which is 1980) & you will see that you have the initial P-77a version. (Incidentally, single letter prefixes are typically earlier issued notes than double letter prefixes as seen with P-77b).

NO catalogue lists each prefix (or suffix when suffixes are used) as this would be too challenging/extensive. The “KNB52a/b/c/d/e;” next to P# 77a is NOT helpful & confusing to me too.  Perhaps it could be changed to 1980 P-77a?
