Sweden KM# 796; Large/Small G

9 posts • viewed 183 times

Hi!

I am trying to figure out if the mintmark G is large or small on my 1940 coins of N#1509. The pictures on the coin page is all but good to determine if they even are different on the pictures, so this makes it really hard. I couldn't find any pictures in the Myntboken catalogue either, just a small note about its existence.

Here's pictures of my 1940 coins. Please help me out.

After having done that, I tried to do it differently

What do you think? I cannot measure anything, but maybe NGDAWA can? Once we have come to an agreement I'll use the #3 and 4 in this old documentation and change the text, since it's only a matter of size of the G, hence it would nice to have it in millimeters.

Nicely done, Ole!

I will try to get the measurements of the G's.

Cheers!

It's a really, really small difference. I pnly had 10 coins at hand right now, and it was a ratio of 6 vs 4 with the overhand to snall G.

I got it to:

Small G: 1.0 mm

Large G: 1.1 mm

Here the result
