Where Gregorian year is present it is used primarily.
This is what was always used, but I see there is no note of this in the guidelines, so let me see if we can clarify that.
I'm not sure how to interpret this reply. It seems to say that coins with a Gregorian date on the coin should be in the Gregorian calendar, but that approach isn't “always used” as all the Algerian coins issued since AH1413 (2010 AD) have Gregorian and Islamic dates and the primary calendar for the majority is Islamic. This approach allows the search results to show both of the primary calendars.
Egypt also takes this approach. Coins have Islamic and Gregorian dates. The primary calendar is Islamic so the listings show both dates from the coins.
(A few coins have years from three calendars which Numista doesn't have a good mechanism to easily support.)
