I found this very good idea in Woc http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php/topic,55237.0.html

The idea is from FosseWay and goes like this:

I'd also like to see a standardization of "KM number" in Numista, so that the number used in KM is the "KM number", not Yeoman, Craig or whatever else. If it's listed with that number in KM, then it should be searchable using the string "KM# xxx" in Numista.

That is to say, that instead of switching between the at least 3 possibilities, when using KM, the search machine would automatically use the country and know when to switch to Y (example Poland) or to C (example Russia). It would be nice to have that, wouldn't it, since I quite often forget to change the code to be used with the number….

… or to C (example Russia). ….

It's not so simple. Krause uses multiple sets of catalog numbers. With Russia your form of searching KM# 111 should find KM# 111, C# 111.1, C# 111.2, and Y# 111. And maybe eventually an MB# 111 if earlier items are added. (There's also Schön# 111 and KG# 111, but those numbers aren't from Krause.)

For China in Krause there's KM#, C#, Y#, and HSU#.

I disagree with having KM# find Yeoman results. Shouldn't the drop-down say “Krause” for this search?

Another option: Add an “Any” entry at the top of the reference list. Searching Russia Any# 111 will find five results. More than just Krause, but fewer entries than searching a general “Russia 111”.
