Coin alignment Szóstak/6 Groszy - coincidental die rotation? [solved]

3 posts • viewed 78 times

Hi all

I want to start by saying I am no expert in hammered coinage. I have one of this coin: N#168265, which is listed as medal alignment.

Mine is almost perfectly in coin alignment. Is it safe to assume that this is just due to rough production methods, therefore coincidentally aligned this way, and not actually a variant or a mistake in the catalogue?

Many thanks

I am no expert myself, but I do have a couple of medieval coins myself. It's due to the rough production methods at the time. I am certain that it's just coincidental.

Yes, it is a coincidence.

I have two of these, and nether one is either coin or medal alignment.

I will submit a change request.
