Hello,

I was busy with my studies a lot (Argh😩)

So, returning back to the topic,

I use a Pseudo-Name, I use the name of my bestie who is my neighbor who is also very much interested in Numismatics, (He gave me permission to use it LOL)

I use it because JNA (or Japanese Numismatics Association) recommended us to use Pseudo-Names in order to remain safe in the cyber world & also, I am kind of an introvert person

What about you guys,

Do you use a Pseudo-Name,

If then, Why

Feels great to be back😄

When I was a teenager in the 1960's there was a television programme

called Lost In Space, and I always wanted a nickname so I chose Zac from

a character in there called Doctor Zachary Smith - just a random name really.

From then on all my friends and family called me Zac.

I loved that show too! Now I will always picture you as Dr. Smith! 😁

Certainly I use pseudonyms. My real name is not Midnight. 🤐

Not here anyway, here i stick with my general real life name compression i use on most websites, makes the name truly feel mine

I suse “Cody404” Because Cody is a character form my faourite movies, Star Wars, and as Cody was occupied I put in 404,

my real name is that of a poet so I use a pseudonym.

My first name is Casper.  Spookie means "Little Ghost" in Afrikaans which is my mother tongue.  Been using it as a pseudonym since the 90's.  And yes, I am friendly. 🤪👻

A bit late to the post but I have used the name “Charon” ever since I played the game fallout 3,

There's a character in it that shares the name who personality wise almost identical to my own.

I have used it ever since though I have learned it's difficult for others to pronounce correctly.

As for why use one?

I dislike being recognized in real life & would find it distressing if people online started finding me in real life,

This aversion to being recognized by others started a Long time prior to me collecting coins however.

I know a few collectors who have used their real names but I suspect they’re the exception rather than the rule on most forums.  There’s also collectors who use the same “handle” (logon, pseudonym) on all the platforms they frequent.

I chose “Serial_Number_8” b/c I am very specific about what I collect & special serial numbers are one of my favourite areas of the hobby.  I joined Numista after a 3 years  On CCF   There, a collector goes by “Celtic Knott,” which I thought was clever & it made me realize I could improve my old handle.
