George I or III

5 posts • viewed 119 times

Hi! This coin was on the random coin line on numista's front page. It is a 1 Ducat of George I of
Brunswick-Lüneburg-Calenberg-Hannover.

I thought the portrait seemed cool so took a look and ended up going to the Duke who was listed as Georg Ludwig (George I). However, I was redirected to George III who ruled at a different period of time and is the descendant of George I. When I went from George III's page, it also showed me coins of George I in there this one specifically: N#268312

Is it a glitch? Thanks for reading.

Georg Ludwig elector of Hanover became UK King George I in 1714, if that is what you are asking.

yes, but the link for George I from the page is redirecting to George III

Yes, that's not correct, linking to wrong ruler.

From Rulers/United Kingdom

George I (1714-1727) links to id=265 ✔️

George III (1760-1820) links to id=267 ✔️

But from /Ireland & /United Kingdom/England & /United Kingdom/Scotland

& /German states/Brunswick-Lüneburg-Calenberg-Hannover

George I (1714-1727) links to id=267 ❌

George III (1760-1820) links to id=267 ✔️
