I've just entered this I found lying in the house - I had to read it twice ! Hands down the highest mint rate I have !

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Look at the mintage of this coin.

There can't be any coin more produced than the US Cent and it's shocking to think they cost more than face value to make.

I've got well over 100 of them. I'm saving them until I get a decent scale so I can keep the 95% copper ones and throw the copper plated zinc ones back into circulation.
Cut small notches into them to see what metal is in the centre.

Keep going, if you manage to collect 10,699,999,999 of them you can melt them all down for copper and my 1982 coin will be the only one in existence, maybe then it'll be worth something.

If I had that many I wouldn't bother melting them! I would just trade them for cash and buy all of the rare coins I could! Plus some guns and ammo for the zombie apocalypse.

Imagine owning $100 million worth of pennies!!!! Anyone have any idea how much space that would take up?

I'm not too good with math (kind of ironic) but I'm pretty sure it's 380,000 meters if the coins were in $0.50 rolls.

Dr Math, watch this before going out buying rare coins with your pennies.

I'd trade it for cash first. I'd bring $100 in pennies to all of the Coinstar machines nearby and let them sort it out. Then I'd repeat the process until I was out of coins.

Canada has stopped making one cent coins.
