OneNote for Windows 10 [solved]

5 posts • viewed 169 times

Does anyone know how I can save a local copy of my OneNote?  Microsoft seems to be forcing users to use their cloud storage.

But the main purpose of OneNote is to sync notes across devices, and with others if you're sharing the file, this can only work if the file is in the cloud.

If all you're wanting is a local notebook, why use OneNote at all?

I dont plan to share the OneNote and I would prefer to keep it on my own computer.  If anyone knows how to do this with OneNote for Windows 10, I would very much appreciate your input.

Start OneNote but don't login to Microsoft. Right click on the program in the taskbar and Close Window.

OneNote will open. In File→ info you can see and change where your notebooks are saved.

When you login next time, it will not stop at the sign in page.

Thank you Harris79, much appreciated!
