Apollo vii promotional coin/token - price

does any one know a value for this coin please?

I see it on eBay (via picclick) on auction starting at US$9. This seems to be the maximum price it would be worth IMHO.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were no bids on it by the closing time. Such tokens are generally worth only a few dollars. There is no price lists for the tens of thousands of medals and tokens out there, so all depends on your personal eagerness to obtain one of these.

If someone has the whole series except the Apollo VII one, s/he may bid twice the value and get it over with. Who knows who will bid on that day. If it happens that two guys looking for this one in the series bid at the same time on it, you never know what might happen. Not long ago, a lot of 1950s─1970s Canadian merchant scrip went up for auction in a reputable auction house here. The estimate was, if I remember correctly, $100─$140. Well, it went for over $2000. When you looked at the bidding activity, it was a typical situation where two alpha males wanted to prove they were loaded with cash to waste ─ a potlatch kind of thing.

Note that many amateur eBay sellers greatly overvalue such items. It's not because someone puts one of these at $30 that it is actually worth that much. In Canada, we have, likewise, promotional token like these which are worth less than C$5 in pristine condition, but are sometimes offered at over $15, which is ridiculous.
