I can't find this coin on Numista.  I don't know if I'm looking for it wrong or if it really isn't there.  It exists on Colnect.

Please tell us the size and (if possible) the weight of your coin, and also tell us where you are looking, and what exactly you found on the other site..

Did you look only in Spain, or did you also look in Italy?

There are coins of the Kingdom of Naples that resemble yours.  https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=3956727

Thanks for the reply, I found this : https://colnect.com/en/coins/coin/119732-1_Denaro_Alfonso_I_of_Aragon_No_date-Naples_1282~1816_-_Kingdom-Italian_States

The weight is 0.61 grams and the diameter is cc.  14.8 millimeters

Thank you in advance,

br,

Dinko

The type seems to be a match (Denaro), but I am having a hard time seeing the name ALFONSV on the obverse, which is clear on the coin in the link.

Maybe another ruler?

The legend around the king portrait might be a sort of ✠DNS M ADIVT ET EGO D I M

Nice research!

However, still many inconsistencies.

The colnect link matches the composition / size /mass.  However, even there, the reverse legend on the coin does not mactch what is written in the description.

Rhinocoins.com says the denaro is larger and copper.

?

Time for a dive into CNI.

It is a coin of the next ruler, Ferdinand I (1458-1494).  The reverse legend starts with FERDINA …

Edit:

Bronze grano (with arms) of Ferdinand I.  There are several very different types (a different one, “with cross” is in Numista).

CNI Vol. XIX, p. 179, #856.

Obv:  Quartered arms in field.  FERDINANDVS D G R in gothic script.

Bust side:  Crowned bust of the king facing forward, in beaded circle, letter M to left.  DNS M ADIVT ET  … as solved by Frenchlover.

CNI has the size at 14-15 mm, and the mass at 0.52-0.65 g., which fits.

Very interesting type!

Thank you all for your help

I am still trying to find the same coin elsewhere based on the characteristics you mentioned, but without success.  Do you have a link to indentic money?

Thanks again but as I said do you have a specific link to the identical coin. When I enter this in the search engine, I get all the coins from Ferdinand I except for the one I asked about. I would be grateful.

I cannot find another image, but the description makes it clear (only question is whether the denomination is a denaro or grano).

We should add it to the Numista catalog! (so other collectors can find your photos!).  The photos need to be cropped and rotated, as Frenchlover has done.

Let me know if I can help.

This page you sent me does not have a picture of the coin, just a description. I am trying to find a picture and description of the identical coin. If anyone has. Link to the page

CNI Vol. XIX, Plate VII, 8.

You can view it yourself here:  Corpus Nummorum Italicorum Vol. XIX (numismaticadellostato.it

SOrry the image is terrible, but this is already a very old book that has been digitized, then I enlarged the page on my screen, etc., etc.

But you can clearly see the coat of arms, and the crowned image of the king.  If you enlarge it yourself on your computer, you will be able to see the inscriptions match.

To see the matching description, you scroll to page 179.

When you have agreed with the attribution, please change your title ("Naples, Ferdinand I of Aragon …") so that other collectors can find this thread later with the correct attribution).

In case you create a new entry in the Numista database. Take this cropped picture of the obverse
