Beautiful coin. If you want to keep it like that I would handle it only by the edges. The oil on your fingers can damage it. Here is estimated retail values slabbed and graded by NGC and Numista estimated swap value of a raw coin like your example . Of course NGC costs money so take that into consideration. As you can see, there is a large jump in value between XF and MS60.
Hello Harryg, thanks!
This coin is out mi my collection target, so I keep it on swap. Hope that someone can appreciate it.
Definitely a good candidate to update our pictures with so please take some top-down images of both sides and upload them to the catalog page. The only demerit I see is the rather large scratch directly on the face.

Hello Idolenz,
Thanks, I don' know if I can give you a better pictures, but if you want to use this ones you can do it without problem!
We can use them they are not bad by any means but personally I would never put the object I want to take a picture of on a moving plane, like in this example your fingers.
You will often have slight wobble, a hand is never still and this is not good for focus and you can easily introduce a slight angle to your picture.

I have squared, cropped and sharpened them slightly but I haven't touched the colors because I don't know how it looks in real live. You used quite a warm colored light.
You should upload them yourself because if I do it they either are listed under my pictures which they are not or I have to put as source ‘Other’ which is not good.

I have used other members photos with their permission, linked the Forum discussion such as this one along with the CR, and asked the ref to credit the OP instead of myself when a member did not know how to do it in the past. Perhaps you can do it with Jeffff_it's permission and they will approve it?
The problem is that I can either select ‘I made the picture myself’ and put in another name but then still gets listed HERE or as ‘The picture comes from somewhere else’ (Other) but I try to avoid using this option.
Also it's really not that hard … just go to the edit LINK and choose New Picture → Browse (select file) + Source ‘I made the picture myself’ (name optional) for both obverse and reverse then at the bottom add ‘made the picture myself' or similar then click Modify data.

Thanks Indolenz the pictures are fantastic!

If you give me permission to use your photos of your coin, I can try to make the change request on your behalf and attempt to credit you . I think your example would be a great improvement to the respective Numista page.

Hello Harryg, yes you can put the pictures in the numista catalogne. Thanks!!!
Thank you. I will make the attempt and update the results here if and when it is approved or rejected,

How do you know it hasn't cleaned? Compare with this example XF with its original bright.

I see absolutely no evidence of a cleaning. None. The luster appears totally natural. I think if that is your assertation, it is incumbent on you to prove it was cleaned and not us to prove it was not cleaned. If you don't like the photos and don't feel they are better than the photos on the existing page, that is your prerogative but don't invoke something irrelevant. These are far better than what is on the existing Numista page and show much finer detail as far as I am concerned.

I go back to confirm that the coin has not been cleaned, the copper maintains its natural red, the details are high and clear (every detail can be seen in the shield).
I don't specialize in Spanish coins, but I have excellent experience in Italian ones and I know copper coins from the early 1900s well.
The cropped photos fully represent the state of the coin, and I thank those who made them so.
I'm sorry for your statement.
Fabio, I cannot say the coin has been cleaned, only surprised by the colour and bright.
But what concerns me is if I accept to replace the current photos of the Numista catalog with those of your coin. We have a document to assist in this decision https://en.numista.com/help/what-are-the-criteria-to-accept-a-replacement-of-a-photo-76.html
The second point says “The picture shows clearer details.”
Which one do you think has clearer details in this couples, they determine the vatiety and engraver.

The brightness and color also comes from the lighting that I didn't change at all in my edits. The coin itself has more details then the current specimen but the pictures could be better like I said in the beginning of this thread.
The corrosion and crud are helping the old pictures quite a bit to be honest, I added the initials of the designer so even if it's a bit hard to read it can easily be read in the lettering. For the star content I most often mention what variant the example specimen belongs to in the comment section. Here I would add “Example pictures from a ‘05 with upside-down 5’ variant”.
The sharpness is not really improved upon in my opinion but at the end the new pictures are far more pleasing to the eye.
P.S. I overlooked in my edit that the year is not a frozen 1904 but can also be 1905, so the section with ‘actual year on star’ could be removed again. Why did they write it in the star anyway?
Also is the ‘19 on star’ variant from 1919 then?
