One of our entries (not sure why we have two) for Falkland Islands P#A1A 5 shillings has the following comment.

The Standard Catalogue of World Paper Money also lists p.A4, 5 Pounds, 'red on grey underprint'. This is likely an error. A red on beige underprint example, pictured below, of a 5 Shilling proof on watermarked paper has been recorded. The underprint covers the printed area of the note.

This is followed by an image of the 5 shillings proof. However, another website has an image of the five pounds P#A4 note, listing 1899 and 1915 as issued dates. Is this note a fake or should we add P#A4 to Numista and reword the comment in P#A1A?

Why would the commenter assume the catalogue entry is likely an error, I wish they would have said.

I would assume it a ‘rare’ colour trial as per catalogue, the dates in line with the 1 Pound note.

The website image, no serial, no date, unissued, counterfoil attached, looks ok for a trial note…

Unless you also believe the standard catalogue to be in error?

edit:

Why do we have 2 A1A's, probably the colours, as A1A should be Brown on Pink, that second one is Brown on Blue (looks Green) that combination isn't in the catalogue, and neither is the Red on Grey 5/- from the comments.

There are two entries for p A1A because p A1A covers two different note issues, differences which are stated clearly and concisely in the obverse descriptions of each note, accompanied with an image of each note:

This note,
N#295618
is printed in brown on a beige underprint which covers central area of the note.

This note, a later issue,
N#336378
is Brown on a blue underprint which covers the entire printed area of the note.

The differences between these two entries are clear.

Regarding pA4, imaged in the link to the other web site, that definitely looks like a genuine Five Pound note!

So pA4 should be added to numista.

However, the page in the link is incorrect in the details of its listing. There is no pA4a, pA4b, pA4r, just pA4, £5 unissued. Additionally, the description on the linked page is confused. The dates listed are known £1 note dates, both of which are listed in numista, with an image of each. This is not to say that these dates were not used on £5 notes. I will check the stated number printed against £1 note data.

I have added pA4 to the Falklands section, and amended the Comments section on the other entry.
Now we just need an image of the £5 note :)

£5 image added, sold by Heritage Auctions, www.ha.com 5 Jan 2017.
