It's time for the 2022 Numista holiday gift exchange!

I guess an exchange would be a good opportunity to celebrate our hobby and make somebody else a cheer. Send coin(s)/banknote(s) (well, I'm sure no one will be upset if you send more than one), as well as a postcard from your city or something else to share some local flavor with our fellow collectors.

There will be three options to send and receive:

1) general coin of any sort, with a value of "a few" (i.e., 2-5) dollars, Euro, etc.

2) silver coin, with a value of 5 to 10 dollars/Euro/etc.

3) banknote, with a value of "a few" (i.e., 2-5) dollars, Euro, etc.

Please register in this thread by the end of November and tell to which option(s) you add yourself. The list of all the people participating will be shuffled and then each person will send coin(s)/banknote(s) to the next person on the list (receiving coin(s)/banknote(s) from the previous person). I will randomize the list on December 1st and post the resulting order. I feel that the international friendship aspect of this exchange is important, so I will attempt to keep as many coins/banknotes as possible travelling to other countries around the world.

NOTE: If you live in a country that has restrictions (that are enforced) on sending and receiving coins/banknotes only from certain countries, please let me know! Once the list is posted, please contact the person to whom you are sending in order to get his/her address. If his/her collection is open for public viewing, you should try to pick a coin that they don't have. Otherwise, take a look at their collecting interests for inspiration.

hello,

I would like to participate in options 1 and 2.

Thanks for your engagement.

I would like to participate this year as well. It is always fun.

Options 1 (regular coins) & 3 (banknotes).

Thank you for the organization!

Hi Leitwolf,

I would like to participate in the three exchanges. Thank you for organizing it again.

For the people would like to do so, can we all mention what our areas of interest are so we can send them the best possible gift?  I do check my recipient's profile and recent posts, but some don't include that information or are in a specialized nook that I know nothing about. I am not the best guesser and some clues would help select better gifts for stranger-friends.

Thanks!

I would like to sign up for all three options.

Thanks for the organization!!!!

Hello there,

May I participate in Option #1 and #2?

This sounds like a lot of fun. Thanks!

Hi,

pls sign me up for all three options.

Best wishes

in the end everything will be good - if it's not good, then it's not the end...

Hello

Happy to do it again this year

Count me in the three options

Have a nice day

Guillaume

Hello,

Thanks for organising this. I'd like to participate in options 1 and 2.

Hello,

Please count me in for options 2 and 3.

Regards

Count me in for banknotes.

I will try.

Great! I like it. I searched Google for Canadian casinos that accepted deposits of at least 20 pounds. The website's address was https://casinosters.com/casushi-casino/. I like spending actual money on video games.

WilliamHarris

I will try.

Which option(s)?

WilliamHarris

I will try.

Welcome to numista

I suggest you first try your hand at doing some regular swaps on numista to gain experience and reputation instead of jumping straight into the NHGE, it would be a shame to disappoint other participants if your first try does not work out.

all the best

I hope there would be some more members who want to make and to receive gifts.

Hi all!

Please add me on option 1) and 3).

Thank you for organizing this important event.

Hope to see some great exchanges eheh.

BR,

Gonçalo

unfortunately I have to much on my plate as a 10th grader to participate in this this year. Wish I could do it cause I loved it last year but sadly can't.

I would like to join in for options 1 and 3.

Yes I will do option 1 and 2 again.

Bear in mind I am in New Zealand and our postal service is quite slow though.

I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

Hey, I'd love to participate in all 3 categories.

I've just drawn the names (and only changed it manuelly if there were two names in line of same country or other problems with sending to/receiving from certain countries you told me here or via private message).

Please contact the person to whom you are sending in order to get their mailing address. I guess the easiest way to avoid to send a coin/banknote the person already has would be to ask the person to open his/her Numista collection for you when you ask him/her via PM for his/her address (and to look at the person's Numista profile).

This year there are less participants, but I hope there will be much as much fun as in the last years - here are the final lists:

Hello

All my holiday gift 2022 are on the way :))

Guillaume

Hi!

All my holiday gift 2022 are on the way also.

Regards,

Gonçalo

It seems like I have missed this completely. “Oh well, there's always next year”, one used to say. I'm getting less and less certain about this now. 😶

Probably there will be a Numista holiday gift exchange next again you can participate in. But for this year it's too late unfortunately.

My first banknote numista gift arrived today. Just in time for Christmas! 😄

Thank you Cody404 for the gift and Leitwolf for organizing this year event.

Still waiting for the coin numista gift and ,my other two gifts that I sent, have already reached there destinations.

Merry Christmas to Numista community! 🎅

I received a very nice Austrian 5 Euro coin. representing  “democracy“. The copper used to make it comes from the old roof in the Parliament building. Santa included an information  page with facts about the coin.

Nice and many coins from qwerty844448 and Salaction have arrived - thank you very much!

Hello

Thanks to my three Numista holiday gift santa claus 😉 Nice surprise

I received some foreign, some silver, snd som pretend gold.

Thanks Santa!

oops I think the above post was my exchange with another site and the following picture is my silver coin exchange on this site (I signed up for all  the exchanges that I could since nobody else here collects and who wants a coin-free Christmas!) 🤣

Ukrainian, Tunisian, and Italian

Thanks Santa!

I received both of my gifts from Germany and the USA today (NZ Postal service takes Dec 25 - 27 off, Jan 1 - 3 off and delivers only 3 days a week).

These arrived from Germany a beautiful mix of early 20th century German and Danish coins I really wanted, they are lovely thank you Florian.

And JC's coins sent me these lovelies of the 2009 State quarters - US territories, 2 of the 2022 Women of note quarters (Sally Ride and Wilma Mankiller) a 2022 dated dime! Also included was a silver quarter.

Great gifts guys - Thank you!!!!!!

My last numista gift exchange arrived today from my fellow numista Grinya.

I am fortunate to have received two beautiful coins plus a banknote all three from Russia.

I want to highlight this one since it is my first russian hammered coin :
