The versions of the Una and the Lion coin of Saint Helena that can be seen on these pages, are not official editions of the particular coin. They were altered by a private company. They should not have official coin pages. Maybe the pages can be moved to Exonumia, or be deleted from the catalog entirely.

That they are modified can also be read on the certificates of authenticity that come with the pieces:

Possibly controversially, I would prefer commercially available post-mint alterations like these in econumia rather than deleted, it gets them out of the coin catalogue (where they should not be) but still allows people to collect and easily list them in their collections, with links back to the original coins.

Yes, I'm aware they could add the original coin to their collection and then add details of the alteration in the comments, plus add their own photos, but that is a clunky solution… and won't stop people attempting to re-add them, and often succeeding.

No, I'm not suggesting we list all forms of post mint damage, just that we think about making an exception for “reasonable quality” commercially available ‘colourised coins’ - the same way we have for ‘elongated coins’.

This does not qualify as being of “reasonable quality.”

True enough, gold lips, what were they thinking, gilding the whole effigy would have been preferable.

Still, it's worth considering, they're not all that gaudy…

Nothing hinders the buyers to add them with a comment on the actual page, seems quite easy to me.

Requests sent.

This request vanished in the haze.

There are two colorized coins issued by Power coin.

N#304802

N#304801

One is in ‘’coins’’, the other in ‘’tokens’’.

In a personal message, @MMowiec advises me to delete both colorized pages and possibly add a comment or sub-lines on the genuine coin page

N#303358

to mention that PMDs’ colorized items were issued and he recommend to take advice from @Jarcek or other admin to ensure the overall consistency of the catalogue.

As far as I know we don’t register 2 euros post mint colorized coins nor in Medals/fantasy coins nor in Tokens. So the deletion of these two pages seems adequate to me.

And by the way there is no referee for tokens for south atlantic islands, so I might handle it.

The following items are not in the scope of Numista:

.

.

Post-mint plated or coloured coins

.

.

Why even consider a comment or sub-line?

Cause I get no coin plated ruthenium so far :)

Answer from administrator:

Coins coloured by the mint are authorized, not the post mint artisanal colourization.

If they are not post-mint damage, they should stay.

If they are not post-mint damage, they should stay.

They are post mint damage though, so they should go.
