Coin or token?

Hi.

Any idea where this coin/token is from? Dia is 26mm. 🤔

Thanks for all info. 🙂

It almost looks as though this scalloped shape might have been cut from a larger coin?  Might be interesting to check the edges.

Looks like a denomination of 10 Para or something very similar …… but can’t see a date …. Similar figures are used on Egyptian or Ottoman Empire Coins.

Ali ( written in persan, so probably iranian) was a cousin, son-in-law and companion of the Islamic prophet Muhammad.

hi

This is  definitely not  “ALI” , but  “ millimat - this is a token with denomination “ 10 milliemmes” ,  - unfortunately I canot  translate  the reverse inscription.

Some similarities:  10 Milliemes - Cantine S 3 - Egypt – Numista

Yes, it is  canteen,  and same on Arabic “ QANTIIN”.

Tlower legend is probably   name of  place where  this token was in use:

يسرى سعيد السراج

Yasri Said Al-Siraj

Nice token. Should be uploaded in NC.
