I just found a very well documented article in http://www.danskmoent.dk/pdf/Frank_NR_129_Marts.pdf about the Danish 2 skilling coin from 1761. Here is what we have in SCWC:

In numista we have this

N#92859

The article, written by Frank Pedersen,

is a very well documented proof of the existence of 5 and not only two variants of the 1761 coin. It shows through a detailed die analysis and other documentations, that the date on this coin, 1761, was frozen from 1761-1774 and that the coin was minted in several locations for several years etc.

Are we allowed to use these intellectual findings to enrich Numista without the permission from Frank Pedersen (I have asked the treasurer of the Danish coin club www.danskmoent.dk), since it was the only contact, I could find on the site, for the possibility of using the article and its content. No answer so far. Let's say I get the permission, do we then also need Frank's personal permission, or is the Organisation DANSKMOENT enough?

You see, my problem is to use the conclusion of the article to change numista, without also using the proof (graphics).

The knowledge is there, but it's probably impossible to enrich numista with it, without walking on some copyright principles. I think the articles from that site can help numista forwards in the Danish section.

Do we have any people, who can make contact and negotiate with the Danes, if they ever answer me?

It is great to find this kind of resource online!

You can add a link to the document as a reference for your changes.

Generally, copyright of the images belongs to the publisher of the document. You could seek permission either from them to reproduce, or from the author.

If you receive permission from the author, you would need to also receive images of the coins directly from him.

If the publisher grants permission to reproduce from the published pdf, then you can use them directly, subject to whatever terms they may have.

[I had precisely this situation with images of Irish tokens I need to use in a publication, which are pictured in a paper on a related subject, I contacted the author and received the original image files and permission to use them without restrictions - knowing the author helped in this instance!].

Whenever I come across a useful reference like this which is relevant to a numista listing, I add a link to it in the comments section.

Bank of Finland is a good example, where the bank itself hosts pdf versions of various reference books which it has published on Finnish coins and banknotes.

It's a bit more complicated, since the link is to a Danish pdf in Danish! I also have to change the year lines, and it's all intertwined with the documentation, where I for the moment cannot use the images, nor the graphics.

I have also found the documentation of Danish West indies 12 skilling from 1767 (N#35985). Also a frozen year, but it was minted in 5 different years and in 3 different mints, there's no real documentation of that either, I suppose I'll find plenty of more. BUt I'll not go any further before I get an answer fromDK on my first request.

I found this about the copyright of the http://www.danskmoent.dk site:

Siderne er en gratis service stillet til rådighed af Niels Jørgen Jensen og Mogens Skjoldager med hjælp fra forskellig side - Tak!
Siderne eller dele deraf må kun gengives med "klik-henvisning" til denne side, og ikke på kommercielle sider.

That's easy, I just have to add the link under my graphic, right? This is the 2 skilling coin which needs 5 year lines according to the documentation:

Please tell me if I'm right?

Ole,

You should invite the Danish collectors to join up here, as they have information that we may not know about in English, as the information about some areas of Danish numismatics are known only in the Danish language.

Aidan.

I live in France and only know the Danish collectors on Numista (some of them), but the other day I saw this meassage:

https://en.numista.com/forum/topic125703.html#p1019130

and found the link. That doesn't bring me nearer to Danish collectors, but it brings me nearer to documentations I don't know!
