Coin in bad condition, maybe 15th century from Netherlands? [solved]

Hi friends!

I am struggling to identify the coin below due to its condition.

I recognise a cross with a lily in the middle inside a diamond, surrounded by a text.

On the other side, there is a shield, also surrounded by text.

I could find some similarities with the coin 2 mites - Charles the Bold N# 309011, but I am not sure since I cannot recognise the shield or the lettering, but weight and dimensions could be similar.

Does anyone have a better idea of which coin/token it is and what value it has?

Thanks a lot in advance!

During 7 years, there were some variations, see this coin with a different letering on reverse

I agree this looks like a 2 mites coin of the County of Flanders, Bruges mint (fleur-de-lis in the center of cross reverse).

The options are Philip 2 Mites - Philip the Good - Burgundian Netherlands – Numista  or Charles (links already provided).  Very difficult to know from the state of the legends, but I agree the lettering looks more like KAROL than PhS.

I see “OV” at the bottom on reverse, so I bet this 97th coin

RUMMEN

JEAN II (1419 ?-1465) ou JEANNE DE WEZEMAAL (1464- 1474).

Double mite - 0,88 g.

D/ +PHSoDoGoBoZoCOMoFLAD - Armes de Bourgogne en plein champ

R/ +MONETA.NOVA.DE.RVME - Croix pattée portant un lis en cœur

Thanks a lot Frenchlover and tdziemia.

I would agree to the “OV”, I will suppose it is the one proposed by Frenchlover.

Anyway, difficult to know with the coin status.

Thanks for your quick support!

You should now create a new coin in Numista to help future identifications 😉

Well I learned something new about Rummen coins!

As pointed out by frenchlover, legend variants are common, and on this example of the Flanders 2 mite of Philip, we can see the full word NOVA in the same location:  https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=1625764

Here are a few other options (but Rummen is certainly correct):

https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=1067305

https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=2475491

https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=8188440

https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=8188441

They all have a Burgundian coat of arms/coat of arms of Philip the Good but a different obverse legend than Frenchlover's 97th coin so now it's important to figure out which legend it is. The legends are so different it must be possible to determinate which one, even when only a small part is readable.

The ruler should be Joanna (Jeanne) of Wesemael (1464-1474). The “double mites” of John II of Wesemael (1415-1465) have the coat of arms of Wesemael on the obverse (a shield with three fleurs-de-lis and no lilly within the cross on the reverse: https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=8188439).

The third option can be ruled out because the arms do not match.

And yes, we could create a Rummen 2 mites coin for the catalog.  (maybe by tomorrow morning it will exist 😉).
