Good afternoon.
Please identify this coin.

It's a very nice example of a billon six gani of the Sultans of Dehli, Ala al-din Muhammad,  AH 695-715 = AD 1296-1316, GG D232

The photos are excellent. Please also include diameter in future ID requests.

Thanks for the help.

I am no expert on these coins but Is it my eyes or does this look like a cast replica to anybody else?

Doesn't look cast to me.
I see this coins always in excellent conditions. Not sure why though

It just looks like the one in the Zeno catalog looks indented while the OP's  looks as if it is protruding. What looks like the 119 at the bottom of the coin for instance.

The human eye is a strange thing (or it is because of my old eyes?). I've already experienced many times (especially with Arabic lettering on older coins) inscriptions looks indented and when you turn away and look back it looks protruding. I've already often wondered where this effect comes from.

For this particular picture I also saw it once like it looked indented but all the other attempts it looked protruding.

I have the feeling if you enlarge the picture it never looks indented, at least not in any of my attempt.

Anyway, the inscriptions are indented or protruding but not both, so I guess are eyes are tricking us sometimes.

Edit: I kept on clicking some more times on the enlargement and sometimes it looks indented too (bust mostly protruding). Again proof my eyes are tricking me.

Yes, perhaps the lighting or my eyes are playing tricks on me.

This phenomenon comes from how the human mind perceives up/down from the position of light and shadows.  Humans are conditioned to assume the light comes from above (from the sun) so if the shadow is at the bottom of the object the object is raised (it casts a shadow below it).  If the shadow is at the top of the object the object is recessed (shadow is cast by the level surface above the object).  To illustrate, in the 2 pictures below the one on the left shows holes in flat material (shadow at top) while the one on the right shows bumps in the flat material (shadow at bottom), right?

In reality, the two pictures are the exact same picture. The right one is just rotated 180° to move the shadows from the top to the bottom.

Very interesting, and I'm glad to know now it's not because of my old eyes.

Agreed. Mind tricks, because I see black and white photos of candy dots in both of those photos no matter the light. 😁

I am sorry if I cast doubt or confusion about your coin. The lighting of the example in the Zeno catalog made that coin appear indented to me. I think everybody agrees that your coin is genuine. Here is another example of your coin in  different lighting that seems to confirm that your coin is indeed genuine and my eyes were playing tricks on me.
