East Asian charm/amulet [solved]

3 posts • viewed 67 times

Can anyone tell me if I am right in assuming this is a charm or amulet and where it is from?

Circular/irregular, non-magnetic, line around edge like 2 halves pressed together, possibly brass plated, 7.21g, 25.21mm, 4.14mm thick, large Chinese characters high relief, other characters/designs in lesser relief. Came in a 5 pound bulk lot for $35 that included some UK Cartwheels, US Pre-Federal Connecticut (barely recognizable), Isabella II Spain, early Japanese (KM15), Straits Settlements, Bulgaria XF 1917, Russian Empire and lots of other interesting stuff.

Thanks for your assistance, Will

Super common copy of a ban liang; I had one once also. Not sure who made them
