Large Collection of World Coins Needs a New Home

3 posts • viewed 244 times

Greetings,

I am posting this on behalf of the estate of my late brother, hardraada. He  passed away about eleven months ago, leaving behind a collection of some 13369 world coins (with 5993 unique varieties) from 200 countries. None of the surviving family members are in a position to take over the collection. It resides in Houston, Texas, USA, and I have engaged a local coin dealer to view the collection next month and (perhaps) make an offer. However, it seems more fitting for the collection to end up intact in the hands of an actual collector of world coins. If anyone here has an interest (or can out me in touch with someone who does), please send me a private message and I'll arrange to provide the particulars (which would include a list of coins exported from the Numista inventory).

Thank you.

Sorry to hear about your loss!

you should just post the particulars here. How much do you want for everything?

Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Looking for pre 1783 coins

Thank you.

I wouldn't accept a offer for the coins from the same person who is the appraiser,

This has unfortunately led to families of recently deceased collectors getting Very underpaid the true value of the collection.

I would recommend putting the more unique coins up for auction at a place like heritage auctions they have a Auctions house in Dallas & I think they give free appraisals online but I am not sure of that.

I have included a link to their site for convenience.

[Also I have no affiliation with them I just don't want to see you get taken advantage of.]
