Hello,
As it seems we now have apothecaries weight in the catalogue it would be nice to create them a dedicate category as they don't belong to Coin weight.
Also not really sure that the Serie feature is well used for these ones or these ones.

I don't see reason , other then they are round and out of metal, to have them in the catalog at all. If they'd be coin weights okay but just weights? Can I put my dumbbells on here next? They are round and out of metal.

Yes, a category for them should exist.
They may be weights that look a bit like a coin, but they are very different to coin weights.
I agree for Coin weights but Apothecaries weights I do not see the reason why we have such items listed here.
By that reason we might as well have military orders on Numista.

I do not see the reason why we have such items listed here…
You could ask that question for many items in exonumia, I often wonder the same about the ‘blank’ tokens.
These items have been around for hundreds of years, and we know what they were used for, unlike many other items.
I would argue that apothecaries weights are highly collectable exonumia, looking similar to coins as they do, I'm sure many of us have had one or two from time to time, and wondered what it was.
I fail to see how excluding them would improve the catalogue, now we have a dedicated exonumia section.
These you show here I agree do look somewhat token like but most apotecary weights I know of have nothing coin or coin shape related and no common interest
The ones listed at Numista, are the coin shaped ones.

I'm not for an instant suggesting we allow other weirdly shaped items into the listings.
Just the ones that look like coins, which is probably why they are currently listed in Coin weights.
The things that don't look like coins, should not be accepted.
I noted to discuss that with other Admins. My opinion currently is that it shouldnt be in exonumia as they are tools, not objects used to exchange things or commemorate events or other items of our exonumia catalog. The only other tools we allow are thise linked to coins production and weighing, for obvious reasons.

yeah sorry it is still in our backlog of topics to discuss :-)
Sorry I forgot to update: Xavier confirmed the ones looking like coins are referenced in Numista. He still has to create the category
