Chicago World's Fair of Money?

Has anyone attended this (or other years) ANA show?

If anybody has attended or is attending, would like to hear your thoughts.

Billed as the world's largest show on money, here is a link to news/updates.

Here's a post on the Paper Money Forum on tips for the 1st timer & asking how collectors made out

Is it generally the same time every year?  I have some family in Chicago and would love to go next year.

- I believe so: the 3rd week of August but I cannot say for certain. I heard about it in 2019 & it was shut down due to Covid for 2020 & started up again last year.  I watched a little of the opening ceremonies & the chair was applauding the Chicago ANA branch president for hosting 8 World fairs. It's also in Rosemont, a suburb of Chicago I believe.

I will be attending tomorrow. This will be my first time.

It’s a fun show with very nice coins even without the Tyrant Collection this year. Definitely worth visiting.

I attended Orlando ANA in 2018(?)

I felt ANA was very dealer-oriented.  There were a few vendors I purchased foreign coins and banknotes from,  but at much higher than LCS prices.  I would expect to pay 40-60% catalog at my LCS, but at the ANA it was 80-90%.

I attended the Chicago ANA twice, back when I was very active in collecting US currency.

Well worth going to either for US notes or coins. There were also a good few dealers who covered world notes, and I sold all of the Irish notes I had brought with me to the shows.

I also went to ANA Portland in 2009. I also brought some Irish notes to that.

Some of the talks and exhibits at these fairs can be well worth attending.
