Hello,
I noticed that Connecticut is split in the United States Pre federal catalogue. Is it on purpose? I think that it is rather unintuitive.
What do you mean by “split”?
This coin: Copper "Bust Facing Right" - Connecticut – Numista is alone in its own section, but should be with the other Connecticut coins: Copper "African Head" - United States - Pre-Federal – Numista
Likewise, this coin: Copper (VERMONTENSIUM) - Vermont – Numista is alone, but should be with the other Vermont coins like this one: Copper (Bust left) - United States - Pre-Federal – Numista
(It reminds me of DUtch Republic where we are still moving things around after a restructuring 🙂).
Finally got chance to look at this again. I will request coin movements, but there si nothing to do on the database side.
American states were allowed to have their own coins prior to the 1790's.
Prior to 1776, both British America & some of the individual British colonies had their own coins.
Aidan.
