Years ago I made this documentation

I think we should split the 1993 year line into 2 separate ones?

Definitely a collectible variation there.

Not sure it warrants a new year line. A comment yes. Otherwise we'll never get those 2 ticks in our collection.

I wonder how many of them there are!!

When I have time in a few days time I’ll go through my two ice cream containers full of 2ps that I got from my bank a few weeks ago and I’ll report my findings to see if they variety is common or scarce enough to be valuable.

Hi to whoever is reading this. Did you know that TYPEWRITER (on a QWERTY keyboard) is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard.

Over the years I accumulated only 13 pieces of 2 Pence coins, 1 of those is from 1993 and it is variant P1…

Not exactly statistically significant but it's a start 😄

If you find other funny looking  new variants, don't hesitate to post images and if need be, I will document them for you. Have fun with your doubles.

After searching through 500ish 2ps I have found 12 1993s and the from what I have looked at I have found 7 P1 variants while the 5 others are P2 variants, so as a whole you have (from what I have searched through) a slightly higher probability of finding the P1 variant than the P2 but both are common to find in circulation.

For example the P1 is on the left and the P2 is on the right.

TYPEWRITER on my keyboard (French = AZerty) doesn't give a full word, by the way. Please specify QWerty for the keyboard of the longest word in one keyboard row, please. The world is not always as you see it from your point of view!

Please tell me the longest word from that row on my keyboard “azertyuiop” in English and then in French. It'll keep your grey cells occupied for a while, if there is no app which can do that for you. I just checked my google and there is an app, so forget about it! 5 different 8 letter words in English. In French I had a problem of making it work.

Thank you very much for your research, it really is nice, since I don't have easy access to that many of those “worthless” coins here in Paris. Collectors united work well, thank you again for your feed back.

As far as I know it’s Self-portraiture Which translates from the word Autoportraiture in French.

POUTZERAI (Première personne du singulier du futur du verbe poutzer).  1st person future of the verb POUTZER =  to shine up.

I see the documentation was added on the page, and there is just one year line with comment. Just to be sure, I messaged the referee about this, but I guess it was already decided to keep it this way. (That such small variety does not warrant new year line.)

Catalogue administrator

I didn't want two year lines really, since all the type collectors would probably just use the “first”, which falsifies the swap lists, better to hope to find the one you're missing in a swap😉
