The picture that you see in front of you will be the group stage, 8 groups in total and the top 2 teams in each group qualify to “Top 16”.

Everyone plays the other three countries in their group. The top two from each group advance and then it's a 16 team knockout bracket. 

I see, so a Round Robin then a Single-Elimination?

How about we create a little competition? In Dutch we call it a football poule, but I'm not sure what it's called in English. Everyone predicts the half-time and full-time scores of all the matches and the winner is the person who scored most points 🙂

Well, we are in a “point of no return”, in terms of the tournament being held there. Besides, it's kind of too late for that, as the money put in for this occasion has been set already. My best advice to anyone who wants to boycott this tournament is this: don't watch it. That is pretty much what we can do. 🙁🤷

I've an idea of a pool : 

Article-1: Only human beings living on Earth on the date of July 1, 2022 are authorized to participate.
Article-2: Bets are open from July 1 to August 31, 2022. From September bets cannot be changed.
Article-3: Each participant agrees to send a coin of a type that the winner does not have in his collection. If the participant does not have in his swap list a coin corresponding to this criterion, he will manage to get one on ibay or at the Post Office. If the winner's collection is not public, each participant will send a coin that worths a few euros.
Article-4: The bets relate to the participants in 8th, quarter, semi and final. Each winning team counts one point for the 8th, 2 points for the quarters, 4 points for the semis, 8 points for the final and 16 points for the winning team. The winner will be the one with the most points.
Article-5: In the event of a tie, a fight with bare hands in a public place will decide between the winners.

Example: the maximum number of points is 64.
16 Teams in eighth for 1 point each:
Saudi Arabia, Australia, Canada, South Korea, Costa Rica, Croatia, Ecuador, United States, France, Ghana, Iran, Japan, Mexico, Qatar, Serbia, Switzerland
8 teams in quarter for 2 points each:
Saudi Arabia, Canada, South Korea, Ecuador, United States, France, Japan, Serbia
4 teams in semi for 4 points each:
South Korea, United States, France, Japan
2 teams in the final for 8 points each:
France, Japan
A winning team for 16 points:
Japan 🤪

Bets will be presented in the form of 5 lines:

Hey, the Italian team has already boycotted Qatar 2022,  because they got eliminated by North Macedonia, despite being European champions a year ago😭
