Hello everyone,
I have this banknote 10 pounds from Egypt.
As far as I understood the date in arabic numbers should be 2008/4/8 which means 8 April 2008, but this variety doesn't exist on this website.
Do you think I'm correct? Should I add a new subtype?
Thank you for your answers.

Marco

Always add a link to the page you are referring to (LINK)

You have the date right so you could add it.
Krause only has very few dates for that type and none have any .number subtypes ... these should go and be replaced by the simply alphabetical subtypes a,b ,c and d and the signatures added to the catalog.

Thank you Idolenz.
So what's your advice?
should I consider it as p#64 c? Or better adding a new subtype?
Thank you
Marco
It's a c sub-type.
The year line is open so you can edit it.
Put it as 2008-4-8 | P#64c - Signature Farouk Abdel Baky El Okda (2nd kind) for the time beeing as long as we don't have the signatures in the catalog.
Use a link to this thread as your source.
I m in front of my PC. What do you mean with "the year line Is open"? I can't find It.
I guess I should go to "Add a banknote to the catalogue" and fill the form.
Correct?Thank you for your help.

Marco
If the year line list is closed a normal user can't add years but here it isn't the case and no 'add new banknote' would make a new page.
You click either on 'Modify or add data on this page' at the bottom or the little pen symbol at the upper right of the page.
Just did it!
Thank you for your assistance!
I'm happy to see helping hands at work here on Numista. One member needed help and another member jumped right in! This is what makes numista the best coin reference on the Internet.

So, what you are suggesting is that he should create a new pick number - which in reality doesn't exist?

This is why I rarely use sub-numbers. If not listed in Krause, one cannot create new ones and call them pick numbers. I case for banknotes with 10+ dates, the sub-numbers are really not necessary. This is a pick 64, and the date is 8/4 2004. No sub-number is actually needed. And especially if there isn't one in the catalogue we blindly are copy and pasting from.

I don't have the catalogue with me now, but is there really a P#64c.24 in there?
Were do you read that I want to do the same as Colnect? Right now the page has made-up numerical endings from who knows where.
Krause has a,b,c,d depending on the signature (they technically could go (away) to but we should add the signatures in the database first).

Is this comment to me?
I never mentioned Colnect. I haven't used Colnect in years now. I don't know what they do, but here on Numista non-existing picks ans KM numbers are being created daily. To this I disagree and say that sub-number are unnecessary, makes the date list messy, and it brings no real value.

If one wants yo add sub-numbers to his/her personal vollection, that is fine. One can then count the first date line as 1a, and the second as 1b, etc. Or 1.1 and 1.2 if one prefers. But don't post made up picks and KM's, it's just embarrassing, to be honest.
