This year has a plentitude of varieties, but as such only 4 are major and easy to distinguish.
Here is the documentation of the different variants.

This is based on the site
http://aboutfarthings.co.uk
where we now have the permission to use their images and findings.
We have two possibilities to use this in numista:
1. insert the documentation in numista and change the 1773 year line to say: 4 main varieties; see CS (where CS is the Comments Section)
2. insert 3 new year lines to make it a total of 4, with each describing one of the 4 main varieties.
The first solution is the easiest, since as such nothing will be structurally modified.
The second is more complicated, since to split a year line into more, since the coins already registered in the existing line will have to transferred to only of the new ones. The members owning the 1773 coin, would have to be noticed, that the split has been made, and that they should try to find out, where their coin(s) should be assigned.
I'll leave that kind of decisions to our referee.
