Hello TEAM,
Good Afternoon,
I saw a British India I Pice hole coin 1943 with "L" mint mark, while this is not available in catalog KM.
was minted Lahore mint 1943 1Pice Hole coin?
Thank you.
I can not see details of 1943 Lahore mint at your given link, please explain that, what would you like to say?
I searches many time in many catalogs but no got anywhere.
Thanks you.
I agree with you that there is no reference given in Numista of a 1943 1 Pice being minted in Lahore, only Pretoria and Bombay.
However, whilst looking to see if I could find evidence of a '43 Lahore minted 1 Pice coin I came across this image which looks very much like what you have? Unfortunately the top of the date is missing but to me the last digit looks as though it's a three. https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=330350&whichpage=15
You should have given the link to back-up what you said. I gave it out of politenes to avoid that everybody, who would like to help you, had to find that link!
Obviously the link does NOT have the L for 1943, just as you said! The SCWC doesn't show the L either, but that's normal, since numista a copy/ paste from KM!.
On internet I saw one from 1943 from Alibaba, so that's most probably a counterfeit
I have been through all the Indian internet sites and it seems that the 1943 1 pice NEVER was stuck in Lahore..... so it's most probably a counterfeit.

'Can we verify in some way, that it's genuine?'
Not that I know of at this stage but the OP in the link that I referenced is very knowledge in British colonial coinage. I'm a member of that forum so I'll try sending him a PM to see if he can shed any light on the subject.

It was a screenshot ot the images, but there was no active site behind it. I'll try to find it again!

Received an email back from the OP and the photo in question was not one of his coins but rather it was taken from the internet to show the 'L' signifying the Lahore Mint in general, which from memory could possibly come from a Chinese forgery.
