This Canadian nickel 1974 km401 looks like it went on a diet. Look at its stomach. The first image the stomach is full and almost touches its hind leg. The second image the stomach is smaller and is far from its hind leg.

What do you think, a weak pressing or a die issue?

There is a "Bare Belly" variety of the 1990 5 Cent which has a nice premium (not listed on Numista).

My quick search of ebay has some for sale and oddly enough, a small Bare Belly variety (I'm guessing the beginning of the die polishing).

I would say yours is a small Bare Belly, 1974!!

You do have an eagle-eye my friend.

Thank you for your reply. I hope you well and warm. I could remember something about a small belly, but could not remember. Just opened my extra Canadian nickel jar and started going through. I never had a change to go through. It has been nice nickels from 1936 to 2007 so far. Alot from the 1960's and 1970's. Still looking for a 1964 extra water line.
