Someone asked me about the difference between a standard banknote and a local banknote and I couldn't answer them - the information isn't easily found online.
Is an acceptable definition 'It is only accepted within a particular area and/or not issued by a recognised body.'?
Will worded it verh good.
I would just say that a local banknote is issued for a city or a region, while a standard banknote is for a whole country/countries.
See German notgelds, for example. They are all local banknotes.
Quote: "stratocaster"The "local banknote" type will be deprecated soon, as for coins. Discussed here.
we will have:
- Standard circulation banknote
- Commemorative note
- Provisional note
- Non-circulating note
- Trial note
Well that's somewhat exciting! I have a few questions as to what would be listed as "provisional coins," but I don't want to clog up the banknote forum. Perhaps we should open a thread in the coin catalog forum?

I'm not sure how I missed that. It perfectly answers most of my questions. I still have a few questions regarding issuers, but that can wait until Provisional Coins get added.
