Should smashed pennies be considered exonumia?

I have a large collection of smashed pennies, all of various ages and from tons of different places. Should these be considered exonumia?
Oh there have been some long drawn out arguments on this subject. I personally do not collect them but see the merit behind both sides of the argument. Yes it pmd to a coin and can easily be written off by many as just junk. On the other hand it is a metal object that has been struck in some form of fashion to depict or commemorate some thing or event. That is very similar to what medals are and therefore they belong in the exonumia section. Or they could always open up another section strictly for pressed Money because I know there are tons of collectors that really have a passion for them and could really benefit from a site like Numista to manage those collection. This I think would be a even better idea and could bring even more young collectors into the hobby if they have a way to organize their collections. Just because we don’t like or collect things that others do we shouldn't talk down to them or prevent them from using this wonderful resource.

That’s my 25 cents on the issue

I read those earlier debates as well.
not happening here, I think there must be a different venue for those.
