Well, Edward VIII abdicated on the 11th of December 1936, so if it changes, I guess it should be changed to George VI , as he was king in 1937…
They say "Pecunia non olet", but I know better...

My impression was that these patterns were made while he was still king for the next year's coinage then "destroyed" by removing his likeness. There are many "1937" Edward VIII patterns.
